South Sumter Park is one of Sumter's officially confirmed splash pad locations and remained part of the park during the 2025 renovation. City news says the upgraded park now includes new playgrounds, a pavilion with restroom facilities, a walking trail, benches, picnic areas, and expanded sidewalk access while preserving the existing splash pad. Families looking for a fuller park outing than a stand-alone spray pad should find this one especially practical.
